Hi there! I am a tutor with 150+ hours of experience looking for new students. I have worked with students of all ages, from 7 to 17. I primarily tutor in math, writing, and SAT preparation. I've tutored students in math from elementary level through pre-calculus. I've worked with students on writing, from simple elementary school grammar skills to college-level essays. I've also prepared students for the SAT and college admissions. As my History major and English minor might suggest, I love the humanities and reading and writing. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring in these subjects and helping my students succeed in their humanities classes. I also have a strong love of math. I took Calculus AB & BC while at Swarthmore simply because I enjoyed the classes. I enjoy tutoring students up to Pre-Calculus and helping them deepen their understanding of math and grow more confident in their abilities. I received a 2230 on the SAT exam and 5 and 4's on all the AP exams I took (English Literature, History and Calculus AB). I am confident tutoring for standardized tests as well. In addition, I've been working as an educator for youth of all ages (5-18) since 2010. I have worked as an outdoor educator for 5 years, taking kids on backpacking trips and teaching them about outdoor survival skills, environmental science and awareness, and encouraging their self-development. I have also worked as a teacher in a Montessori school for kids aged 5-7, creating and implementing curriculum. Finally, I have developed and taught curriculum to students aged 5-18 as Program Director of Youth Education at a nonprofit in Oakland, CA. In general I love to be around youth, and teaching comes very naturally to me. I love to connect with my students and help them achieve their goals, whatever they may be.

Hobbies
I spent the past year studying Buddhism and meditation in Asia. I've been practicing yoga for about 10 years and was trained as a yoga teacher in 2009. Since then, I've taught on and off, including free classes for teen girls. I love everything about the outdoors: hiking, backpacking, snowboarding, etc. I love to read a good book and cook a good vegetarian meal.
