Education
BA Hons History at Cambridge University- graduated 2013 At university I studied a broad range of History (both thematically and temporally), as well as Historical Argument and Practice, which gave me a deeper insight into the study of History and the construction of effective and convincing arguments. In my final year I focused mainly on modern non- European or 'world' history, especially colonial and post colonial history. My dissertation looked at the idea of the indigenous in German Samoa at the start of the 20th century. International Baccaleureat, (History, English, Spanish Higher Level) Canterbury (2010)
Experience
I taught English to children and teachers in Nepal. I also designed and carried out teacher training for other volunteer teachers from Cambridge. I led revision groups in History at school and University. I worked in the Education Department of an art gallery in London (the October Gallery), where I helped run educational workshops for children and arts educators around issues of cultural diversity and global citizenship. I volunteer at a community library where I supervise children between the ages of 3 - 13 and engage them in reading and using a library. I very much enjoy helping others learn, engage more fully with what they are learning, develop new interests and achieve their full potential. I owe a lot to my favourite teachers, they were very inspirational, and I would like to use my enthusiasm for teaching/ learning to inspire others. My ideal way of teaching is encouraging students to be inquisitive and think creatively- develop a process of learning and thinking, rather than just remembering or studying for an exam. As a History graduate and a native English speaker I could offer tutoring in History and English as a second language. I studied the International Baccaleureat and would ideally like to tutor for History or English, as I really believe in this wholistic system of education.

Hobbies
I spend of lot of time writing, singing and recording songs. I am also part of a writers group and organise spoken word events and writing workshops, as well as writing fiction. As a writer I also enjoy reading, especially short stories, as a source of inspiration and improvement for my own writing. I am a keen photographer and enjoy hiking and skiing.
