Joel B.
Private tutor in Berlin, Germany
Education
I studied an integrated Bachelors and Masters in Physics at the University of Warwick, UK. After graduating with First Class Honours in July 2012, I joined the Condensed Matter Physics group at Warwick, where I pursued a doctorate by research in the field of Superconductivity. I have recently (Oct 2016) submitted my PhD thesis, and am awaiting my viva, which will take place around Dec 16/Jan 17.
Experience
As part of my university course, I worked as a demonstrator in the practical Physics Laboratory, and the Electronics Workshop. This involved helping students with practical experiments, as well as offering guidance on written reports that were expected from each student for their experiments. I have also worked as a private tutor in Banbury, UK, from Oct 2014 to July 2016. During this time I have had the opportunity to work with A level students and GCSE students who were studying for Maths, Further Maths, and Physics examinations. Recently, I joined the team at Oxford Science Studies - a Tutoring College operating from Oxford, UK - which runs Maths and Physics revision/exam preparation classes in the school holidays. During the course of this work, I have been able to work with students in groups varying from 1-6, and have taught IB, iGCSE, GCSE, AS, and A level Maths, Further Maths, and Physics.
