Education
I'm completing a Master of Public Policy at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin in May. My focuses at the Hertie School are statistics, quantitative research methods, and climate policy. But I've also taken lots of course work in economics and political science during Hertie. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Ohio University in the U.S., with a minor in history. I graduated from Ohio University in 2009 magna cum laude. While there, I served in various roles at the school's daily newspaper, including senior writer and campus editor.
Experience
Directly after finishing my undergraduate degree I taught various subjects for two years in New Orleans through the U.S. program Teach For America, including English, writing, and the Arts (mostly drama and some visual art appreciation). I also taught in Peru for a couple months following Teach For America during a backpacking trip of South America. I worked as a professional journalist for several years following my teaching, before entering graduate school in Berlin. While at Hertie I've worked at two consultancies focused in the areas of climate and energy policy.

Hobbies
In my spare time I play guitar, exercise, travel, and read fiction, history, and biographies. I have a passion for the writer David Foster Wallace and Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States. I also spend far too much time following politics, particularly in my native United States.
